When I was invited by Farfetch to create a post around their new collection of Aquazzura heels, I thought maybe this would inspire me to raise my game in 2017. While I love fashion and style, you wouldn’t know it sometimes.
That being said, I do like to make an effort and that’s what this blog post is all about. Whatever the occasion, whether you’re at a cocktail party or heading to work, the right shoes can make you stand out from the crowd.
So I selected my favourite pair of Aquazzura heels – the Very Deena pumps – and then pulled together three ways these versatile shoes can make you shine in 2017. Go on, show off your wild side.
The cocktail party
Who says party season is over? You may be cutting back on the festivities right now but there’s a whole year to go where at some point you’ll be celebrating. Showcase your style in a black silk jumpsuit courtesy of Roberto Cavalli. Flattering and easy-to-wear, add some accessories such as an elegant Aurelie Bidermann ruby pendant and a metallic bag to complement the animal print shoes. This ‘Pandora’ minaudiere bag ‘happened’ to catch my eye.
From office to out-of-office (and cocktails)
My mum would tell you that I’ve always had a thing for velvet jackets. I think it comes from being a teenager in the mid-90s when velvet was all the range. And so now that velvet is back, I simply had to add this gorgeous Saint Laurent version to my work/cocktail outfit. Slip it on and you’ll feel glam from head to toe. Add some roll-up jeans and a simple yet stylish white blouse such as this one by Chloé plus a Givenchy tote, which just about happens to be the right size for a laptop, and you’re pretty much good to go wherever the days takes you.
Now I’m not suggesting you go for a hike in these heels. They’re far too precious for the mud. But you can use them to dress up a pretty casual outfit. After all who doesn’t like to juxtaposition themselves between smart and casual? Way more exciting if you ask me. Go for a simple Stella McCartney denim dress (hey, I went to Texas and loved the Western style) worn under a cosy green Mr & Mrs Italy Parka. Then don’t forget a bobble hat to keep your head warm and maybe a backpack that’s bursting with colour.
I think I’ve got plenty of cost-per-wear outfits to justify these shoes, don’t you?
