Live for the weekend? Well, here’s something to put in your diary for the next two days you have off work (if, of course, you work Mon to Fri) and you want to make the most of it. Downtime, what downtime? Get active and take on the challenge of the Big Weekender and Urban Tri. Or as they say: “Sweat Yourself Amazing”.
Hosted by Hot Yoga Society, the Big Weekender runs from 10 to 12 March 2017, and promises a variety of different workshops and classes to try in a warm and friendly environment. If you’re looking for a way to wind down on Friday, why not sign up for Friday Night Candlelight Class taught by Olga Allon? Or you could always feel the burn at the renowned Paola’s Body Barre Class led by Paula. With flexibility workshops (hello runners and tight hamstrings), Bikram Method classes, Yoglow classes, slowflow classes, Superfood cocktails with Kate Magic and much much more, it’s definitely worth taking a look at their timetable.
A weekend pass costs just £20 to access all standard classes (this excludes some workshops).
Speaking of workshops, they are also running an Urban Triathlon on Sunday 12 March, which sounds amazing. It kicks off at 9:45am with a glute and ab awakening class at Cyclebeat followed by 35 minutes of spinning. If you’ve not been to Cyclebeat then this is a great opportunity to see the experts at work. You will come out feeling invigorated and totally ready for the next section – a 5km run led by Run Yoga Run. Then to finish the Urban Tri, you’ll be able to switch off and stretch out those tired muscles in a 90-minute Bikram Yoga class. All this for £40.
I would absolutely love to try the Urban Tri but I’ll be running the Vitality North London Half instead. It’s also the husband’s birthday weekend so I’ve planned a bunch of activities of a different kind.
If you do happen to make it, please let me know what you thought of the weekend.
