New month, new challenge – it’s time to turn over a new leaf and kick that butt into gear. For not only is June a celebration of Women in Sport (this week primarily but every week should be in my mind), it’s also the start of FIFA Women’s World Cup (supporting England but my money’s on France), Wimbledon, AND #Juneathon.
June-a-what? Tell me more
Essentially, #Juneathon is motivation to do some form of activity daily throughout the month of June. This could be anything from running a marathon to taking your dog for a walk, as long as you’re moving and getting the old ticker going, it counts. (Ha ha ha, I’m sure it counts but you better check the rules.) You then log or blog about it everyday. Simple, eh?
Why take part?
Why on earth not? It is after all the season to “whip your bod into shape”, follow that “bikini blitz” or try and whittle down your waist with the latest “swimsuit diet”. Instead of going to extreme measures or following some crazy meal plan which consists of prunes, oats and maple syrup, up your activity, eat a little better and you’ll feel better by the end of the month. You may even find that it becomes a part of your daily ritual and slipping back into old habits becomes more difficult. The end result is you – only with more energy and vitality.
How do I sign up?
There’s a whole website dedicated to the cause www.juneathon.com
Am I taking part?
Hell yes, after a month and a bit off following the crazy desert race, The Style Dynamo needs something to keep her on the straight and narrow. And I’ve already kicked-off this morning with an amazing Pilates class, thanks to Sweaty Betty (shine my halo). In fact, the lovely Sweaty Betty team are running a class every day this week as part of #SBBloggerBootcamp so that’s a quarter of my month sorted. Running, cycling, Yoga, Pilates, I’m up for giving any activity a go during #Juneathon as long as it doesn’t involve snakes.
Go on, throw something at me, I’m craving a challenge.
Who will be joining me with #Juneathon?
