With Christmas on the cards and joy in the air, you can’t help but reflect on the year. And one thing I’ve missed about 2016 is our weekends in Bath. We spent a couple of years doing up a place just outside the city centre and I used to love running along the canal to Bradford-On-Avon and back again. They were fun times and great for us as a couple, offering a break from London and a project for us to do together as a team.
Bath in itself is a wonderful city, which mixes heritage and history with its own range of independent shops and businesses.
Now even before we decided to buy into the landscape that so inspired the books of Jane Austin, one of my friends Liv, who I met at the London College of Fashion, set up a boutique with her partner Nik on Pulteney Bridge called Found which I’m pleased to say is going from strength to strength.
We would always pop in and say hello or go out for drinks, dinner or whatever with Liv and Nik as they are such good company. I miss catching up with this fashionable duo and finding out what their plans were, seeing their wonderful array of stock and basically having a good chat.
A few months ago, I was looking at their online store which sells a carefully selected range of designers such as Baggu, Karen Walker, Deadly Ponies, Bensimon and YMC, and I came across this video above (start at 2:01 minutes). Next thing I know, I was flicking through the pages of Stylish magazine and products from Found was featured in a section about Independent boutiques in the UK. Honestly, I felt like a proud parent, showing off the pages to my colleagues at work, saying to everyone, if you ever go to Bath pop in and say hello.
So yes, if you do head to Bath for a romantic weekend or are running the Bath half, do go see this dynamic duo and their wonderful boutique where you’re sure to find everything from a new dress to one-of-a-kind greeting cards and stationery. Aptly named “Bath’s hippiest boutique” by the equally well-curated Crumbs magazine, it’s well-worth a visit.
And in 2016, I’m going to make it my mission to head to Bath at some point so I can catch up with my friends who are such an inspiration.
