  • Kick start winter with Ride Skincare

There’s something about a new venture that gets me excited. Whether that’s my own endeavours or others, I think there are some things worth supporting. And that is why I’m writing to tell you about a new project launching on Kickstarter called Ride Skincare.

    Just ride

    Just ride

Created by a guy called Tom, who contacted me on Twitter, Ride Skincare features products that are made for the outside in more ways than one. For as well as offering your skin the protection needed when you’re battling with the elements, this range of skincare uses 100% naturally derived and organic ingredients. Which is great news for me whose skin turns flakey at the simple mention of SLS (that’s Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and parabens. What I’m trying to say  is that those whose skin tends to be on the sensitive side generally react better to more natural products (well that’s what I’ve found anyway).

So the introduction of an all-natural SPF 30 sunscreen called Ride Protect and a moisturiser called Ride Recover that combines a number of natural ingredients is music to my ears.

I’ve struggled in the past to find an SPF sunscreen that will stay put on my face throughout exercise. When you’re running and consequently sweating, the cream you’ve added beforehand can end up dripping into your eyes, causing you to rub them as they sting, and then you find that you’re running with just one contact lens because the other dropped out a long time ago. Not good, not good at all. What Tom is promising is a sunscreen which won’t budge and also creates a barrier on top of the skin  via titanium dioxide to reflect back UVA and UVB rays.

Ride Protect also contains jojoba and coconut oil so it keeps your skin feeling supple when faced with the harsh winter elements.

And once your workout is over, you can then soothe those layers with Ride Recover. Again this combines naturally derived ingredients including Aloe Vera, green tea and high-grade olive & peppermint oils to rehydrate and replenish the skin  When you work out intensely, your skin needs feeding and this lightweight everyday moisturiser sounds like it could do the trick.

Here’s few words from “my mate” Tom about Ride Skincare:
“We have been working hard for 2 years to get the products right and now the time is here to go into production. We just need an extra hand in getting there and that’s where our Kickstarter backers come in. Purchasing one of the pledges means turning a great idea into reality and goes towards helping to achieve our ambition of protecting everyone’s skin in a more natural way.”

The campaign will be running for just under another four weeks so why not treat yourself to an early Christmas present?

Tom Marshall contacted me via Twitter to help support his products. I have not tried any yet but have put my money where my mouth is on Kickstarter.
