  • My beauty stash: Montagne Jeunesse Damask Rose Ultra Deep Cleansing Masque

My beauty stash: Montagne Jeunesse Damask Rose Ultra Deep Cleansing Masque

Not only is Christmas the one time when I can stop for a few days to catch up on my ‘to do’ list, it also gives me a chance to really pamper myself. And my ‘indulge me’ kit always includes some sort of face mask. This year, I opted for Montagne Jeunesse Damask Rose Ultra Deep Cleansing Masque.

Yes, it’s a bit of a mouthful to say but this gorgeously scented facial mask was just what I needed to give my skin a much-needed detox.

I don’t know about you but my skin and my body really feels it at this time of year. After a month of piling on the warpaint, all I want to do is strip back my skin to the bare essentials (moisturiser, mascara and lip gloss). This is where a face mask comes in.
I know that my skin is never going to be completely clear of blemishes so instead of reaching for the concealer I try a bit of deep-cleansing. Queue the face mask.

In my time, I’ve probably used just about every product on the market.

From peel off products, where you end up with half of the stuff stuck to your eyebrows, to mud masks that crack and crumble when you attempt to smile, there’s always been some kind of face mask in my beauty cabinet. I have to say that I’ve always been impressed by Montagne Jeunesse.

You’ll probably know them in their sachet form and may well have received one or two in your stocking. If not, make a note for next year to put them in friends’ stockings as they’re a fantastic fat-free alternative to chocolate.

Most importantly, they cleanse and leave your skin feeling ultra-clean. I thought I’d give this Damask Rose ultra deep cleansing mask a whirl after finding it among my beauty stash and was impressed by the results.

Not only did it smell of roses (you don’t say?), the thick yet easy-to-spread formula only took a few minutes to get to work on my skin. It did tingle on my spot-prone areas e.g. chin but not uncomfortably. In fact, after leaving it on for 20 minutes (I would show you but it’s not a pretty sight) and then washing it off and patting my skin dry, my face felt soft and pleasantly supple and moisturised. Perhaps this is because this particular mask combines soothing rose with Marula oil, shea and cocoa butter, which are known for their moisturising properties.

On looking at the list of ingredients, I can also see that this particular mask uses dead sea salt, which helps calm down those pimples.

While I’m not completely spot-free, after using this mask, my face is clearer and less red and blotchy.

Now, I’m not saying just use this particular Montagne Jeunesse face mask. Everyone has different skin types and concerns. But in terms of value and results, this range of beauty products is pretty hard to beat. As you can tell, I’m a huge fan but for more than one reason.

The company also has strong eco ethics and stay true to their environmentally-friendly values. All their products are vegetarian, some are vegan and as they say on their packaging “animals are our friends” so none of their many beauty treats has been treated on our furry companions.

There’s a lot that hasn’t been said about this beauty company that are trying to make a difference. So why not support them by treating yourself to a face mask?

Check out their range here. Montagne Jeunesse is also available at a variety of different stores including Boots and Superdrug.

Have you tried Montagne Jeunesse yet? What’s your favourite product?
